Who is Cido?
I have worked with the company since 1977. I am currently working in the Color Laboratory; however I have worked in this field since the beginning of my career. My job is to deal with requests from internal and external customers related to color. I am also responsible for equipment evaluation (spectrophotometer, machinery, colorimetric), the approval of colors for points-of-sales materials purposes (color charts, sheets, etc.), I give support to Color Marketing and answer the Customer Service Hotline.
I live in Vila Alpina, Sao Paulo and my greatest pleasure is to spend time with my family. I am married and my wife’s name is Magali. We have two children, Patricia 16 and Fernando 19. Although I consider myself as a ‘home-body’, I usually go out to dinner with my family, go to shopping malls or visit friends. I also like to cook on weekends.
What does color mean to you at work?
My job is focused on color. I create colors that bring happiness to people’s lives.
Working with hundreds of colors every day is very satisfying and motivates me to provide a high quality of service responsibly and with commitment; one that meets our internal and external customers’ expectations. I have worked with color for over 30 years and have developed and created new formulation database for new products. I have participated in technical and colorimetric evaluations for new color tools and other similar activities.
I associate my workplace with blue, because it transmits tranquility, responsibility and commitment to action. It reflects how I feel about my work.
…and outside of work?
I try to use different color tones at home. Each room is painted a different color. My daughter’s room is a harmonic combination of different shades of violet that transmit equilibrium and tranquility, it reflects her personality. My son’s room is green because it brings feelings of freedom. My wife and I have similar color preferences which means we are in the same phase of our lives. Our room is yellow because it brings energy and vitality. The living room is a combination of different shades of orange which stimulates creativity and communication. We chose neutral colors to decorate our bathroom and kitchen.
I have been invited to participate in the next ‘Tudo de Cor’ event (‘Everything in Color’), which will take place in Porto Alegre. I am very excited about this invitation and I am happy to be able to help renew our community and to bring joy and motivation to people’s lives.
What is your all-time favorite color and why?
I like all colors but my favorite one is green. It is the color of nature. It brings happiness, and gives a feeling of tranquility and prosperity. Apart from which, it is the color of my soccer team, Palmeiras.
If you could choose one color that most closely matches your personality, what would it be and why?
I would choose blue because it is calming, harmonious and tranquil, and it transmits warmth.
